My domain name is trapped
-
Hi, I purchased a paid plan and migrated my domain name over to WordPress.com. Turns out the plan didn’t work for me so I canceled it, but my domain name is still attached to the WordPress.com account…. yet the account is no longer active. How do I get it migrated back to my own domain registrar?

Hi,
If you are moving your site to a new host it is wise to change the name servers to the new host before you transfer the domain. This makes the move quicker and smoother.
This guide will help you change name severs https://en.support.wordpress.com/change-name-servers/
This guide helps to Transfer a Domain to Another Registrar after completing the above step
NOTEIt is not possible to transfer a domain for 60 days following the registration date or for the 60 day period following a previous transfer. This 60 day lock is required by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and cannot be waived.
Thanks

Hi greenhomegnomeblog,
my domain name is still attached to the WordPress.com account…. yet the account is no longer active.
Do you still have a copy of the confirmation email we sent when the WordPress.com account was closed? If so, please reply to that so we can follow up with you there and look at your options.
If you don’t, can you confirm which domain you need help with?
