My Domain Released

  I mistakenly cancelled my domain name with WordPress while trying to transfer it. I got an email about a refund, but I’d like to keep it and transfer it to my new host. Is there anything I can do?

  Hi there!

  We can still get the domain back, I’ve just sent you a link to a payment form. Once you’ve paid for the domain registration, reply to this message so we can recover the domain for you.

  Since it was a new registration, you won’t be able to transfer it straight away (ICANN sets a 60-day lock on new domains), but you’ll be able to use it with another host by changing the DNS records:

  Thank you, I got the email and paid the fee.

  How long does it take for my domain to appear in my list of domains on wordpress? I have not seen it yet.

  We need to restore it to your account manually. I’ve done that now.

  You can see here for ways to point the domain to another host:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/move-domain/

  Once you’ve owned the domain for at least 60 days, you’ll be able to transfer it completely.
