My domain transfer has not been approved. Is there a step that I am missing?

I am attempting to transfer a domain from WordPress to another registrar. I have initiated and confirmed this transfer. This was a week ago. I contacted the other registrar and they have told me that they are awaiting approval from the transferring registrar (WordPress). Is there a step that I am missing?

Once you confirm the domain transfer as you’ve done, there’s a waiting period of five days.
You can bypass the five-day waiting period by going to https://wordpress.com/my-domains , and clicking Edit next to your domain. Select Transfer Domain, and then Accept Transfer. This will initiate the transfer immediately.

I have selected to transfer the domain as you mentioned. I completed this step before my initial contact. As of just ten minutes ago the receiving registrar is still waiting on your approval. It has exceeded the five day waiting period.

I ran the Accept Transfer process again, and still not seeing it go through brought this to the attention of our registrar team. Your domain is still set at an ‘Active’ status, not ‘Pending Transfer’ which we’d expect if another registrar has used that EPP code. This is why accepting the transfer is doing nothing.
Could you please go through the Transfer domain process once more – create the EPP code and submit it to your new registrar. Then let me know so we can check the status once more (freshly) and we’ll run the accept process immediately.

I attempted to go through the domain registration process once more, but it failed due to the pending transfer. Here was Hostgator’s response:

Please wait while this transfer request is processed.”. There is nothing further on your end that will need to be done as we are currently waiting on a reply from the losing registrar. Once we have an update for you we will be replying back to you with confirmation and details on how to manage your domain.

Please let me know if still does not appear at your new registrar.
