My domain url is not linked to the proper site

    I spoke with namecheap for a few hours today. They informed me that my domain is active, but it is not hooked up to the proper site. The site in which I want it linked is still called hecknfloofyshop.wordpress.com. which is incorrect. Please advise.

    Correct account: Yes

    Hi there,

    It is not possible to have a custom domain on WordPress.com sites that are on our Free Plan. Those can only use the WordPress.com URL for the site address (and show ads to help cover our costs) but you can connect a custom address by upgrading to any of our plans. This is similar to the hosting fees that most other providers charge:

    If you are just starting out the Personal Plan may be your best bet since it is the lowest cost, and will allow you to connect your domain from Namecheap, and will also turn off all ads on the site.

    Once you have upgraded please let us know and we will be able to walk you through the settings you need to add at Namecheap to allow your domain to connect, and then it will be the address of your site.
