my draft of my first post disappeared

I saw on one of the wordpress support pages that you can find revisions as a way of getting a lost post. Unfortunately, I can’t find the ‘revisions’ option anywhere. I spent a lot of time on it and it appears that what posted was the generic ‘Hello World’ post that I started mine from. I know that I saved my draft before closing out.

Some computer users are operating under conditions where they might experience a crash or loss of power, etc. Those users may have a better experience using the WordPress “Classic Editor,” which has more features than the default editor. This includes better crash recovery.
To edit an existing post using the Classic Editor, add this to your basic URL:
wp-admin/edit.php
So if your blog is Funny Dog Pics and your basic URL is
https://funnydogpics.wordpress.com/
then to get to the Classic Editor the URL would be:
https://funnydogpics.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php
You can also compose a new post using the Classic Editor like this:
https://funnydogpics.wordpress.com/
plus
wp-admin/post-new.php
equals
https://funnydogpics.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php
In the Classic Editor, you should see Revisions if you scroll down near the bottom of the page.
Personally, I always compose my posts in a text processor on my local computer and save multiple revisions with ascending version numbers. Then I paste the text into WordPress and do the formatting. I’ve never lost any content.
