My E-mail won't update even though I confirmed it?

So I was attempting to sign up, and did so under a secondary email. I wanted to then change the email, to my main and confirmed as required. Problem being, after clicking the link it still says the site is registered under my secondary email.
I read stating that if doesn’t update, it is because an account is already linked to that email. So I signed up, and signed in under my main and was logged in. I thought perhaps I had an account and I forgot about it, but I found that it was the email I’ve been attempting to sign into.
TL;DR I can’t change my email regardless of what I do. Halp

Did you receive the confirmation link at the new email address and click it? From what I can see, the email address change on your account is still pending, meaning you haven’t clicked the link in the new address yet.
If you haven’t received a confirmation link at the new address, please check the Social and Updates tabs in gmail, as well as the spam folder.
If you have received the link and it’s not working, try logging into your email and WordPress.com accounts in in incognito browser in Chrome, and then click the link there. Let me know if that doesn’t work.

I tried that, and it still did not work. I am clicking the link, but every time I do (whether I am in incognito or normal) all it does is open my profile with the same settings I had previously.

and because the world hates me i tried one final time and this time it seemed to work? Can I get confirmation of that please?

I can now see the new email in your account, yes.
I have no idea why it wouldn’t let you confirm, but let’s chalk it up to a Christmas miracle rather than the world hating you ;)
