My Edin theme doesn't look like the live demo.
-
Hey guys. I’m running this website for almost two months now and this thing is starting to get annoying. In the theme description it says that I can make it look like a grid but I can’t even find those settings. And also I enabled optimized ads but I am 99% sure that I only have one ad showing. Can someone check out my website and tell me where are the theme options I am looking for and am I actually running optimized ads? Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

To set up a grid page:
1. Create a page on which you want the grid to appear and choose the Grid page template.
2. Create child pages (sub-pages) of the grid page you just set up, by choosing the grid page as their parent page. You can learn how to choose a parent page here.
3. Make sure each child page has a featured image.Edin does not support additional WordAds units, only the basic one. I’ll put in a request to see if that can be added, and will keep you posted here.

Here is an example from the demo of what the grid page looks like:

If you want your front page to look like the demo’s front page, please follow the guide under “Front Page Template” and let me know if you get stuck at any point:

I will manage the setup later. thanks for the response but if Edin doesn’t support additional ad units then why is it on the list here : https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/wordads/?sort=free?
I used it just because it had an option for additional ads and one of your colleagues assured me that I will have additional ads on my website. Now, after two months of hard work you want to tell me that I had only one ad on my website? -
Sorry for the confusion — I think Edin may be on that list by mistake, as I only see one ad position on it. I’ve already put in a request for the theme to support more WordAds units and I will keep you posted.

@kathrynwp, thanks for resolving the ads problem but I still have two ads not three as I should with optimized ads. Furthermore, I don’t think that you see my point here. I worked hard to make some traffic int he past month and now I will get only 1/3 of the earnings I should be getting because you, or whoever is responsible for this, made a big mistake. Now, while trying to setup the grid format i noticed another abnormality within WordPress. I like my setup to be in English because that is the only language I can understand, now if you take a closer look this [https://snag.gy/ofQr7l.jpg] is GERMAN. From the surroundings you can notice that everything else is in English except that. Can you please tell me why?
@lyricfa24, thanks for the video, my problem is that my website only has posts and just two pages. Can I convert my posts into pages so they can be shown in a grid with a chronological order? That is actually what I’m looking for from the beginning. -

There are two type of grids in Edin:
1) The front-page grid of three featured pages, which are displayed side-by-side. This is what they look like on the demo: https://cloudup.com/cFn8YLWe9QM
Those featured pages can be selected in the Customizer’s Theme Options panel, and can be set in any order you like.
2) The grid-page template, which can be set up following the steps I gave you yesterday, and assigned to any static page.
If you want your homepage to be the grid page, you can assign it as your static front page in the Customizer’s Static Front Page panel. Here’s a guide on how to do that:

That is an odd glitch that we’ve seen sporadically with a cross-section of themes. We haven’t been able to pinpoint the cause in order to resolve it, and it goes away on its own.
Seite mit Raster – Grid page
Seite mit alternativer Seitenleiste – Alternate Sidebar Page
Seite mit voller Breite – Full Width Page
Startseite – Front page@kathrynwp, thanks for resolving the ads problem but I still have two ads not three as I should with optimized ads.
You’re welcome. The ads team told me they would look into whether the third ad position can be used (in the header), but they said that on first look, it may not be possible – not every optimized theme is able to show ads in every single position, due to the way each one is designed and coded.
Furthermore, I don’t think that you see my point here. I worked hard to make some traffic int he past month and now I will get only 1/3 of the earnings I should be getting because you, or whoever is responsible for this, made a big mistake.
I understand how frustrating this must be and apologize for the error. The ads team is not sure why it happened, but said that sometimes themes that are optimized for multiple ad positions start to show conflicts in certain areas, and so their ad slots are reduced, even though they remain on the optimized list, which is what may have happened here. I know that probably isn’t any consolation, but I still wanted to let you know what they passed along.

Thanks for everything, I don’t blame you, you weren’t the one who gave me bad info to start with. I just have one more question and you can mark this as resolved. Do you know when will we get the WordAds report for September? I just want to see if this was all worth it and should I continue my work.
-
I checked with the team, and September’s payments should go out at the beginning of next week.

Thank you for all your help but please check with your team again. My second ad isn’t showing up on the website again…
