  I lost my domain name (sanitara.com) a few months ago and GoDaddy want to extort silly amounts to allow me to buy it again – much more than they charge for a new domain (they effectively hold you to ransom). So I am using my main email account now. But in order to change the address, WordPress has to send a link to my old email account that no longer exists! Help! I understand why they do that – is there a way to get around the security issues another way please? I can send my passport details but I cannot see how to contact WP direct, hence this post. Thank you.

  Try going to account settings, updating the email address, and clicking the Save Account Settings button. There’ll be a message saying that there’s a pending change. Check your inbox for the confirmation email and click the link within to verify your email address.

  The old email address only receives an informational email saying that the address is changing (at least that’s what happened when I tested it). There’s no verification link to click in that one.
