Thank you for your help. I am subscribed. I just wish I had the information I needed to send in the form, but I think the only way to do that would be to activate the account, and I don’t want to do that. Thanks, timethief

Hi @fromthe3ofus,
You currently have the following site on your account:
fromthe3ofus.wordpress.com
Based on this portion of your reply:
I do not want to activate the blog listed above. I do not know whose it is.
It sounds like you do not want this blog to be associated with your account at all. Is that correct? Were you looking to start a different site?

Hi, Jeremeylduvall,
I did not start this blog from the 3 of us. My email was used to start this blog. I do not know anything about it. I haven’t posted on WP ever. I had signed up years ago, and forgotten about it. My email was obviously hacked. There are two other blogs or blog posts that were generated from my account, and neither of those were of my doing either. I’m not sure what to do. Someone had asked to change the password of my account to fromthethreeofus. The notice came to me.
I don’t what to do. I just want my account back without anyone else trying to use it or generate anything from it. What do you suggest I do. I have changed the password. I do not want to activate that blog, or any other blog already here, because it/they are not mine, but my account was used to start them.thank you,

I forgot to answer the other question. I am hoping to start blogging here on WP. I want to be sure my blog is secure. I am hoping to bring my other blogs over here, too. i haven’t used this site in years, but I’m not sure about the security right now. I also do not want this other blog here since it’s not mine. Sorry, I am just upset about being hacked.

Hi Mallory,
When you create an account at WordPress.com, we automatically create a site for you that matches your username. So, if you created an account titled “fromthe3ofus” several years ago, we would have automatically given you a blog called fromthe3ofus.wordpress.com. The creation date of this site matches when you originally created your account so I think this might be the case.
There are two other blogs or blog posts that were generated from my account
Are you referring to writing201july2014.wordpress.com and writing201june2014.wordpress.com by chance?
Those are writing courses setup through WordPress.com (led by some of our Editorial team members). When you participate in one of the courses, you’re automatically added to the site. I can remove you from those sites though if you would like!

Jeremy, I suppose what you say is possible, however, when I wanted to change my password, I received a notice that said that someone recently asked that the password be changed for that blog. I didn’t do it.
That’s what makes me wonder. I am confused about that.
As far as the classes go, I might have taken them, I don’t know. If I did, I really don’t remember. That was in my very early blogging days. I’ll stay in those. I don’t know what happened. My credit card was recently hacked, so I’m a little nervous about all of this. -
Hi!
I just checked the password reset logs for your account, and I only see the one change that you made recently. I definitely understand the concern here. However, I think we’re in the clear. Changing your password and enabling two-step authentication should help to secure your account:
Besides the sites, have you noticed anything else suspicious going on with your account?
-
Jeremy, thank you. I think you are right. I was just very concerned that someone had activated my account. I really appreciate your help. I will enable two step authentication. No, I haven’t noticed anything at all.
Thank you. Case Closed! :) -
Wonderful! Glad we were able to get to the bottom of this. Let us know if you need anything else!
