My Email is already registered to an account

  I would like to start my own website/blog but my email address is already registered with wordpress for an account. I am familiar with the account because although it is largely inactive it was part of student profile organisation. I have checked the settings of that account but it has the organisation’s email address registered. How to I remove my email address from it?
