my emails to my followers look like code/gibberish

Can you please check my settings? My mom is following me (of course! :) ) and when I did a new post today, the notification she received was all computer code/gibberish. S he forwarded it to me. Please advise,

Could you please put that email in here so that we can see it as well? Make sure it’s just the body of the email so that your own and your mother’s information isn’t included, but it would be very helpful if I could see what you’re talking about!

I just learned that I have name amn= esia (namenesia?)=C2=A0 Or maybe Name Addiction?=C2=A0 I=E2=80=99m not sure= what it=E2=80=99s called but of the millions (or maybe gazillions, I= =E2=80=99d have to check with the statisticians on the exact =E2=80=93illio= ns) of names out there, I apparently am only aware of about twelve.=C2= =A0 This came to light when I was writing Grief Inc., my fifth (and favorit= e so far) novel.=C2=A0 I was happily plugging along, putting my poor charac= ters into terrible predicaments when it occurred to me that EVERY SINGLE ch= aracter=E2=80=99s name was one I=E2=80=99d used in a previous book with the= exception of the main character, Holly.=C2=A0 Since I started writing the = book in November, about four months pregnant with the boys, I expect the up= coming Christmas season was the only reason she wasn=E2=80=99t retreaded as= well.=C2=A0 Not only this, but when it came time to naming the boys again = I was stuck on the same names I=E2=80=99ve been naming my characters!=C2= =A0 Oh, how I lobbied for Max and Adam!!=C2=A0 My husband had a vote too, t= hough, and we settled on Aiden and Benjamin =E2=80=93 with twins your babie= s are called A and B for as long as you know they=E2=80=99re there and we g= ot a little attached to the A/B theme. And perhaps, at the risk of sounding= unsympathetic (as I=E2=80=99ve mentioned), we occasionally refer to them a= s Beastie A and Beastie B, but really, I blame Bisky (if for no other reaso= n than she is only two and can=E2=80=99t articulately defend herself).= =C2=A0 I=E2=80=99m curious =E2=80=93 do other writers gravitate to the same= names for all their characters or do you use different ones?=C2=A0 For my = newest book I=E2=80=99m using a baby name guide to try to get more original= but Max, Adam, Michael still keep popping up.

Thanks so much for sending that along. Could you actually send me your mother’s email address? It will appear on your end as [redacted], but I’ll be able to see it. It seems that there are a couple of ISPs with whom we are having some rare issues along these lines with. Could you also check to see if she is using webmail or if she checks her email through a mail client (such as outlook or the mail app on a Mac).
No matter what, this does seem to be limited to certain email providers and to certain instances. If she would like to get legible notifications about your blog immediately, she could use an alternate email address or some other format (such as a feed reader).

OK, thank you! Both shaw and videotron are emerging as ISPs which are having this issue. We’re working on it now, but in the mean time if she has another email address at which she can subscribe that would be a great work around.
