My entire blogroll has disappeared from my sidebar – how can I get it back?
-
My entire blogroll (including several different categories of links) has disappeared from my sidebar. The automatic WordPress solution says to go to “Appearance” and then go to “Template” to put it back, but there is no “Template” selection in the “Appearance” menu. There is a “Widget” selection, and I have gone into that several times, but I cannot find my links lists/blogroll even among the “inactive” widgets. I was wondering if anyone knew of a way that I could get my blogroll to show up in the sidebar again. (And by the way, the links are still all listed in the dashboard in the “links” section.)
Thanks. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

WordPress.com deprecated the old Links widget. Currently the only way to display them is to manually recreate the links in a list block. Here’s a staff reply about this https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/did-you-remove-the-old-widgets-with-links/#post-4046593
More information about the List block here https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/list-block/
There is a Blogroll block in the works, but it works very differently from the old Links widget. More on that here: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/blogroll-block/ At the moment we can’t add external links to it.

OK, thanks for that information – I was really wondering what happened! This is unfortunate. So, I will have to recreate the blogroll in another form.

My blogroll has disappeared from my footer area too. Happened within the last 48 hours. Highly irritating too. Also notice that media keep disappearing in recent posts as well. WordPress is no longer the nice, easy tool for blogging it was until a few years ago.
