My follower count
-
My new blog (flashsalefinds.com) already has several followers. When I go to my stats and scroll down to the “Totals, Followers & Shares” box, it lists me as having only four followers. But, when I click on that number, it reveals a list of closer to 10.
The follower count that appears on my blog itself shows me having 11 followers. I have followers on twitter, as well, so I’m not sure how they fit into either of these numbers.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is no domain mapping upgrade for flashsalefinds.com. If you would like to use this domain you will first need to set up domain mapping.
Important Notes Before Upgrading http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/#important-notes-before-upgrading
All About Domains http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/all-about-domains/In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com subdomain blog to map from and the domain name you desire must be available for purchase, or you must already own the domain URL.
You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard at > Store > My Upgrades to purchase a domain name by purchasing an annually renewable domain mapping upgrade for the blog.
See here if you do not own a domain http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/
See here if you already own a domain http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
See here to map a subdomain (for a domain with an existing website) to your WordPress.com blog http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-subdomain/
After you do the primary blog set up it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

Hey timethief:
Her domain is working fine. :)
Hello there starkgirl!
The 11 followers you’re seeing is your total number of followers which includes those from WordPress.com and your connected social networking accounts.
If I look at your stats here:
https://wordpress.com/my-stats/?blog=68830642
You can see that you have 4 blog followers and 7 Twitter followers, which add up to 11. :)
Hope that clears things up for you. Let me know if you had other questions. Thanks!

Hi, druesome,
Agreed–my domain does work fine :)
I get where you’re getting the 4 and 7 from, but those two numbers don’t match up with my twitter account (which shows me having 9 followers), or with the list of subscribers that pops up when I click on the “blog” link next to the number 4 in my stats.
I have no idea if you can actually see that list or if it’s something only I can see while logged in, but there are eight people with wordpress accounts listed there as subscribers.
Are subscribers different than followers?

@druesome
In the OP I see two URLs one without the http:// provided by the blogger and one provided by the software. My new blog (flashsalefinds.com) already has several followers.

Sorry for the mix-up TT! I’m guessing it was a typo on the user’s part. Indeed the “flashsalefinds.com” domain isn’t working. Can you clarify on that starkgirl?
Our stats aren’t quite in real time and I would give it a day or two for the correct numbers to reflect in your stats. Let me know if this continues to be a problem. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Yeah, that was a typo the first time around. I was originally toying with two separate names, but flashsalepicks.com is the correct address and appears to be working.
Anyway, thanks for the explanation about the stats. My assumption was that all the different parts of the stats page would work together simultaneously, but I’ll keep an eye on them.
Thanks!
