I have recently published two new PAGES on my blog however my followers have not received notification of this update as they do when I publish a new POST. I did update my last post to include reference to the new pages however I’m not sure that notifications are sent for update to existing POSTS just new ones. Can you please advise

I have recently published two new PAGES on my blog however my followers have not received notification of this update as they do when I publish a new POST.
That’s right. The My Followers page says
When someone follows your site, each time you publish new content on your blog they receive an update in their Reader, via email, or both depending on their settings.
The phrase “new content” might be a bit misleading. In this case it means only new posts. No notification of a published page is sent to followers.
I’m not sure that notifications are sent for update to existing POSTS just new ones.
They are not. I eventually began publishing posts to notify my followers of new pages, which is an unwelcome chore since my site primarily consists of pages.

Ok so I have to write a post to let people know that there is new content on the blog? Seems a bit of a waste but I guess I could repost the updated last one as a new post then delete the old one …..

That’s an alternative. However, I would suggest that you consider publishing a brief new post to notify followers of the updated post. Then you could delete the brief notice of the update after a while, say maybe a week or two later.
