My footer looks broken

  The footer look broken on my wp.com blog.

  I heard that it is not possible to remove/change the footer credit. However, when it is not working, there should be a way for me to fix this. Thanks.

  Hi,

  You’ve heard correctly that we disallow changing or editing the footer credit; however, that is definitely a problem with your site!

  I’m tracking down the bug since it breaks in Japanese, but not in English. In short, we’re working on patching this up for you.

  Hi,

  Our devs are looking at it. In short, it’s an odd issue involving character sets running through our translation process.

  The quick fix breaks other things, so we’re wanting to solve all the related issues in one swoop. It impacts the footer on a fair number of themes set with Japanese as the primary language.

  Thanks! It looks fixed now. However, I now noticed that having credit line in Japanese is not common and does not look cool. By looking at this, I now believe the best fix is just not localising for ja. Would be great if you can consider. I guess theme exists to make blogs look cool and not to ruin…

  Hi Sasaki-san,
  I removed the Japanese translation for “Customized XYZ Theme.” – your footer is reflecting this change now. Again, thank you for your patience and additional suggestion.
