My friends cannot leave a commment without subscription to wordpress

I have several friends complaining that they cannot like or leave a comment without subscription to wordpress. Is this a bug? In the options I have the following:
Other comment settings
Comment author must fill out name and email –> ticked (agree)
Users must be registered and logged in to comment –> not ticked (don’t agree)
Please advise what’s the issue here?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I just visited your site and left a comment on your latest post using an email address that isn’t connected to a WordPress.com account, and it went through without asking me to log in.
I also double-checked your discussion settings, and everything looks correct to allow comments without requiring a login.
If your friends are being asked to log in, it might be because the email they’re using is linked to a WordPress.com account. In that case, they’ll be prompted to log in.

Just adding that the ability to “Like” a post requires the user to be logged in to a WordPress.com account.
