Why is my front (home) page missing posts and sidebar?

  My front page is missing all the posts and is missing the sidebar. I tried to correct this by changing themes, but that did not help. I am not html smart, need simple instructions. Thank you.

  Your petenew.com site is actually set up with a self-hosted installation of WordPress.org. This is separate and independent of WordPress.com. We have more information about this in our support docs.

  For help with your site I would recommend asking in the WordPress.org support forums.
