my front page doesn't look like the theme I choose

i was trying to use the theme Illustratr and the front page is supposed to have every post as a photo, but it’s now look like I’m not using any theme, the front page is like a list with all my posts in detail.
Could anyone help?

Every theme has a detailed theme description page to assist with set up. Every theme has a live demo site for the same purpose. Here’s an example:

I figured out the reason for that
some of the themes are designed to display the pages as it shows, not the posts -
Your site http://standinghigher.wordpress.com, is presently using the theme Pictorico. Your front page resembles the demonstration image shown in the Pictorio page of WordPress Themes.
You have a dozen rows of tiled images, four to a row except the bottom row which has only three (47 total) each evidently a link to a post. I hovered over several of the images and found each to be titled and dated. I was able to visit posts by clicking on selected images.
