My gravatar appears differently in 2 places.

  On my livingcenter.me blog page and when I comment on another wordpress blog, my picture comes up as the one I chose for my gravatar/avatar…

  But, when I post an entry to Facebook or when I text or email the link to my blog to someone, the picture is different. It is a former picture that I deleted. I’ve searched everywhere I can think of and can’t get them in sync. I want the picture on my blog page to show up everywhere. Thanks.

  So the reason why the Gravatar looks correctly on your site and when commenting on other WordPress sites, is because each time you’re visiting there, the site is talking with Gravatar and checking to make sure the image is updated. Preview generators like you’ve mentioned don’t work the same way.

  The first time Facebook needs to share a post it ‘crawls’ the site, reading all the information, and creates the preview as best it can. It then saves that information on the server so when another person comes along later and shares that link, it can just display the saved information, no revisiting the site necessary. It’s faster that way. Other services that generate a preview work pretty much the same way.

  So the problem is, your Gravatar has changed, but the other services aren’t re-checking that page every time you share. The best way to avoid this issue going forward is to assign a Featured Image to posts, as almost all previewers will display that image as the primary one.

  Facebook provides a tool where we can fetch new information for any of your posts:

  Your most recent posts all appear to be showing your correct gravatar, but if you have a post that you’re sharing that displays an incorrect one, try pasting the URL there then click “Fetch new scrape information” — then try sharing again.

  Now you mentioned specifically texting and email as well — I’m surprised they would cache as aggressively as Facebook does when generating a preview.
