My header in Under the Influence
-
Since I switched over to Under the Influence, my header has been the width I set for my blog, with only the burgundy line and dots above the header extending to the edges. Now suddenly, the header is at the default width of 980 pixels. How can I get it back to the way I had it? I didn’t change anything. Was this a WP decision?
Thanks,

I don’t know if something was changed in the backend or not but I loaded the theme in my test blog and this is part of what I read on the Header page:
“Here you can upload a custom header image to be shown at the top of your blog instead of the default one. On the next screen you will be able to crop the image. Images of exactly 980 x 180 pixels will be used as-is..”
This is the URL for your header image and I note that it has been cropped.

The 980 pixels is the default header size for the default site width, but you can change the width or choose if you want a two or three columns. I chose two columns and a site width of 800, which my header matched until last night.
Now it’s just ginormous and extends beyond the width of my site. It doesn’t make sense. My site width is 800 and the header is a part of that, so it should be the same. It’s just not as pleasing to the eye now. And the header isn’t even centered. That bugs me. I like balance.
My thumbnail snapshot is cloudy, but so you can get an idea, this was how it looked before, with the header matching. http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=97469809&albumID=687234&imageID=55128019 You can tell by the title, which WAS right over the tabs, now it’s jacked to the left and huge.
The burgundy line above the header and the dots above that were the only things that extended edge-to-edge, the full 980 pixels (970 actually, as the default header is slightly bigger the the default site width.) And the whole site was centered. It doesn’t look as polished now. I’m bugged.

The header did adapt is what I’m saying. It matched my site width of 800 pixels until yesterday, now it’s set at the default.
Thanks. I’ll report it to them. It looks to be a backend thing.

Nope. I’ve been busy and never contacted them. My header still stretches the whole default width.
