1. Calm down…it’s okay if a question isn’t answered after an hour, at least for something with as little importance as this.
2. There are several things that may cause the stats counter to not count, such as if they have javascript disabled, or if they were all accessing it from the same computer, and were logged in, etc.

1) Don’t bump threads; it’s considered rude and won’t get your question answered any faster; quite the opposite.
2) sidebars are cached and can take some time to show things that your dashboard can show you right away. If you want realtime stats, use the Whosamungus widget.

I don’t have any way of knowing whether or not your stats counter is faulty. None of us Volunteers can help you with tha, but we can tell you that it’s very common for new bloggers to create one or two posts and become upset if they do not see an inflow of traffic, and cannot find their posts in Google searches. You are new and the wordpress.com stats is not a real time tracking system. Do it’s possible that that your wordpress.com stats display is simply lagging behind and will catch up.
If you wish you can use additional third party visitor tracking programs on your wordpress.com blog. As you have yet to actually begin to create content and only if you are so inclined then this could be a good time to choose one.
There are reviews on my blog of the various kinds of free third party visitor tracking systems that you can choose from. Some are real time tracking programs and some are not. Here is the link to one of them http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2009/10/24/real-time-visitor-tracking-non-javascript-for-blogs/
