I’m creating a Home page, and it is set as the home page. I have text over an image, but when I preview the page, it doesn’t show up

  • Hi there! It sounds like you’re missing one thing from the template – a “post content” block. Basically, your homepage content is prepared under Pages > All Pages > your home page, but the template which governs the general appearance of your site is not yet set to show that homepage content.

To solve this, you’ll want to use the Site Editor, which looks a lot like the page editor but which handles overall site appearance settings – things like colour scheme, font choice, and general layout. You find it by going to Appearance > Editor (beta). When it opens up, it’ll look similar to the page editor but you’ll see things like the site header (with your logo and menu). You should be able to insert the Post Content block below your header; it won’t look like much within the Site Editor but it’s basically “the thing which puts content onto a page”.

Once you’ve inserted it, save the change and feel free to exit the Site Editor – this change should normally make sure that all your pages in future have their content showing up in the published view.

In case of need, we have guides for the Site Editor, managing templates, and the Post Content block:
