My HOME page isn’t working

    My Home page shows up on tabs at top of blog but when I click on it, it says it does not exist. It also does not show up on my pages in dashboard. How do I remove it from the tabs OR find it so I can use it.
    It doesn’t look good when the first page people go to tells them “you’re looking for something that isn’t here”.

    I first had the problem of two “Home” pages because I made a “Home” page without realizing there was one already, then I think I accidentally deleted the original “Home” page. So now, i keep getting a “page not found” message. Is there a way to restore the “Home” page?

    The reason it is giving you a message “not found” is because you do not have any posts yet. Write a post, and when you click on “home” it will be visible.

    I would recommend that you study the differences between pages and posts. It will help you to understand how to set up your blog so it functions efficiently.

    Pages are for information that doesn’t change: for example, which schools you attended or graduated from, an about page, definitions of what artists’ books are, etc.
    Posts would be articles about your work.

    Then read about categories to understand how powerful they are in organizing your blog and optimizing it for being found by search engines.

    Categories would organize your posts for example, according to medium used, who influenced the work, or topic of the photo, painting, or design…

    Of course there are other ways to set up a blog, but I hope that you find this advice useful.

    F’day,
    I’m posting the support document search results link for “page not found” and “404” > http://en.support.wordpress.com/not-found/ so when this thread goes into the dorum searchbox the next person searching will be able to locate the information quickly. :)
