My home page setting is missing

  I have been not log in 3 months. When I log in today, and open my site, I found the theme and settings of home page is different from my settings. Everything I set in home page was gone. The reason seems like the theme I used can not be used anymore. Is that the reason that caused my home page settings totally different? How could I recover my home page setting? If I choose another theme, would this happen again?
