My homepage is set as private. Want it to appear when I first enter website help!

    Need to remove my one-page homepage, set it as private and make it appear first when I enter the website. Right now it’s just my blog page coming up first but when I go into readings and try and set it to my homepage as static page… the homepage does not appear.

    The site I need help with is kathryngullackson.com. It is not hosted by WordPress.com, but it is connected with Jetpack.

    Since your site seems to be hosted with Bluehost you will need to get help at Bluehost.

    If you have not posted in that forum please create an account in that forum before posting.

    WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two independent entities, and things do not work the same on each of those versions.

    If Bluehost is not able to help you please use the WordPress.org forum for help.

    You will need to create an account there to be able to use that forum.

    Hi! Your site isn’t hosted here with our services, so it’s likely set up a bit differently.

    For what it’s worth, though, your front page will usually need to be published and public. The customizer won’t let you select a private page as the front page.

    If you wanted to, though, you could make a public front page that just links to the private page with more info. Make the public one the front page, and you’ll be all set. Like the “splash pages” sites used to have. Note that would not make your blog posts private, but there are plugins for that if that’s your goal.

    Going forward, for help with the free WordPress software itself, you’ll also want to use the correct forums for self-managed installations, at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
