My images are HUGE
-
Hello!
No matter what I do (compress the image, change the pixels under media settings), my photograph appears HUGE.
I’ve cleared my cache and cookies, I’ve signed in and out, I’ve read a million blog posts.
How do I get a simple blog post image to appear normally sized?? Thank you!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @amymaloof,
Looking at your site, I don’t see any images in your posts. Are you trying to set a featured image?
If yes, you can update your post/page templates to resize featured images in the site editor by going to Appearance → Site Editor, as shown here:
Hope that helps.

First — THANKS for responding! This was great to learn.
Second — For now, I just want to upload images to my posts, not a featured blog image. Those are the photos uploading as huge…

So what I would suggest here is first resizing your image before adding them to your media library. You can use online tools like https://picresize.com/ for this.
When adding an image block, you have the option to set its width, similar to the screenshot I shared above. You can learn more about the image block here: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/image-block/#resize-images
