My images are no longer showing up on wordpress

    If an update or a paid version of wordpress will solve this I’m OK with that and I’m also OK with buying a backup app if necessary – these things just need to be simple to use. I use the site as a Professor at York University and I need it to work reliably. I also understand that the issue may be with my .htaccess file. I am not a computer expert. And your advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    Can you tell us more about your problem ?
    Is there a specific url where the expected images are not showing up ?

    Hi there,

    Of what site are you speaking? http://ishinoportfolio.wordpress.com/ contains only two posts, have not been updated since 2011, and I don’t see any evidence of images recently being deleted there.

    Please confirm the site, and provide links to the exact posts or pages where images are missing.

    Thank you for getting back to me so fast:)

    You have the right site: https://ishinoportfolio.wordpress.com/
    This is what shows up on my ‘home page’. (See below).

    However when I try to click on my CV, for instance, it does not show up.

    BUT when I go into my WordPress sites and click on ‘Media’ all my past posts show up. So the Media is there, but will not ‘activate’.

    Also if you look I did update my site on: December 31, 2017

    I’d appreciate ANY help you may lend me as I’ve been ‘building’ this site over many years.

    Hi there, I checked your site and see you have a lot of published pages, but you do not have a menu active on your site. I see that you have a General Menu defined at Customize > Menus, but do not have it assigned as the Primary Menu. If you go there and open the general menu and scroll down in that left panel, you can set that menu to the Primary Menu location.

    What shows in Media are images. Those image have to be inserted into pages or posts before they will show up on your site. It is just the storage are for images and documents that you have uploaded.

    See if that gets you what you are wanting.
