My images aren’t uploading.

I can’t upload images to the media library. I keep getting this message:
Post-processing of the image failed likely because the server is busy or does not have enough resources. Uploading a smaller image may help. Suggested maximum size is 2500 pixels.
I’ve already tried to make them smaller on photoshop. How small do the width and length pixels need to be?! I’ve read articles to follow what they recommend and I still get this message!?
