My images have stopped showing up in some of my posts
-
I have recently changed my theme and have just noticed that some of my images in some of my older posts aren’t showing up. Please help… why is this? Is there anything I can do? Here is a link to one of my posts where it has happened a lot http://theglobetrottinggraduate.com/2014/07/30/cheerio-canterbury-hello-reality/.
I don’t understand why it is happening with some images and not others?
Any help would be much appreciated :) thanks!

Have you used all your free media storage space?
Where are the missing images hosted?
Are they hosted on an image hosting service like Flickr or photobucket?
Did you upload them into your Media Library?
Did you delete them from the Media Library? If you do that then they cannot be displayed.
Please read OMG! My images are gone http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2013/09/20/omg-my-images-are-gone/ -
I see 9 images in this post http://theglobetrottinggraduate.com/2014/07/30/cheerio-canterbury-hello-reality/ If you cannot see them perhaps you have a browser related issue.
Please work through what follows and report back.
1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
2. If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view
3. If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/
(a) Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
If applicable see here for instructions on how to clear the cache for Chrome and Safari on the iPad:

http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=12654(c) Disable all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily.

4. You can use this link to see if your flash is up to date. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If it’s not then go to http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ and download and install the latest version of flash.
5. Try using another browser.
6. If you are not successful let us know:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://supportdetails.com/
(c) Exactly what you experience including what any error reports you receive state. -
Hiya,
Thanks for your help but none of those options have worked. There should be a lot more than 9 images showing up in that post. I source my images from both Google and my Facebook page however, some of the images show up from both of these sources and some don’t. Therefore, I think it may have something to do with me changing my theme? It’s mostly my older posts, which are having the problems. There is a box where the image should be but no image.
I access my blog on my laptop through Chrome 38.0.2125.104.

When you say you “source” images both from FB and from Google, do you mean you download them to your computer and upload them to the website, or use the Facebook Embed technique, or do you just embed them via URL? If you do that last one, you don’t control whether or not the images display. It’s inevitable that people will take down or change their images, and they will consequently not display in your blog.
-
I embed them via URL however, the majority of the photos that are not showing are my own images from my Facebook page which I have not removed?
-
For example, in this post http://theglobetrottinggraduate.com/2014/07/24/an-intoxicated-weekend-in-geneva-lake-parade/ all of the images are my own images from Facebook however, this is probably the post with the most images missing…
-
If you have more than nine Facebook embeds in one post, it’ll take forever to load. Your browser is probably choking on the load.
As well, the first broken image I see has the URL:
https://scontent-b-ams.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xap1/v/t1.0-9/10509663_10152172201217204_8370478235936528980_n.jpg?oh=2f6b91d7503a9f22c5927443d0396206&oe=5448D196No wonder it doesn’t work. That’s not an image URL.
The image URL would be https://scontent-b-ams.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xap1/v/t1.0-9/10509663_10152172201217204_8370478235936528980_n.jpg but that image doesn’t exist either. That’s your problem.

In that case, why has it been working every day since I posted it in July and has suddenly decided to stop working today??
-
No idea. In any case, it does not work and the way to prevent this is to upload them directly to your media library and from there embed them in posts.
