I’ve reset your importer for you, and you can try it again at any time.
How large is your import file? Sometimes larger files will time out before the process is complete.

That went fine.
Now I would like to transfer my theme from the old site. mikeyshookup.com. Will I need to do this by exporting from my old host? Can I FTP into wordpress.com? Better yet is there a simpler solution?
Thank you for your time.

Because of the way WordPress.com works as a shared service, we do not allow users to upload their own themes to WordPress.com. Instead, you can choose from over 200 free and premium themes that are listed here:
http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/
We do have a number of free themes that have custom header options, so you could us one of those with your own header, and if you want more control over the styling, you can use your Custom Design upgrade that comes with your Premium upgrade package to modify the CSS further.
If you need help with the CSS, we have great volunteers and staff in our CSS Customization forums, https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization

Thanks, Just to be clear…there is no way for me to transfer my theme as it is now. I would have to recreate it on your site?
I fear that would mean it would not make sense to keep this account and do this transfer and I would be better off telling my client to stay on a different host? :(
Thanks again.

It really depends on what your needs (or those of your client) are. On WordPress.com we do have some limitations such as the inability to install your own theme or plugins. On the flip side, hosting is free (and even with premium, that’s still cheaper than most hosting, and it includes a domain registration), we handle upgrades and backups, there’s no limit on bandwidth, and there is free ongoing technical support from staff and volunteers. Sites also benefit from good SEO as Google constantly is indexing new content and regards WordPress.com as a trusted domain.
If the theme itself is a deal breaker, you will have to go with a different hosting account. Given the simple site design, I suspect you could recreate something very similar here without much effort. It wouldn’t look exactly the same, but it could in fact be even better. :)

You’re very welcome. Please let me know if there’s anything else I can do to help you (or your client) with this decision.
