My Jetpack site stats stopped working
-
Everything appears up to date on my end but when I go to the site stats it reports:
ERROR 502 – BAD GATEWAY
Why am I seeing this page? The server that your request has reached is acting as a gateway or proxy to fulfil the request made by your client.
Web Browser => Web Front-End => Web Back-End….
Any idea what’s going on?

Hello!
Running Jetpack debug (found here) says
“Jetpack not connected. We were unable to find a Jetpack instance on your site. Please connect Jetpack to your WordPress.com account from within your WordPress admin.”
A troubleshooting guide can be found here if you would like to try to determine the problem yourself.
I’m flagging this post with ‘modlook’ and a Happiness Engineer should get back to you.
Hope that helps!

Hi there,
I don’t see any errors in the Jetpack debugger. @joerepublic, exactly what URL did you check? http://www.mooshme.org/ ?
Your stats are also loading fine for me, so I don’t think it’s a problem with Jetpack. More likely there’s a connection problem between your browser and our servers. Please try refreshing the page a few times, clear your browser cache, and reset your modem/router and see if that helps.
Also try a different connection. If a different connection works, the problem might be with your ISP.

With Jetpack sites that matters, yes, as theoretically at least you can have different sites at the www vs without :)

Thanks guys. So it DOES work when I move over to Chrome but does NOT work when I continue, as I have, to look in Firefox. It did not work in Firefox at home or work. Does that help to focus on the source of the problem?
Also, I went from 1k visits a day to 25,000 for two days in May, due to Facebook. Do you know if I can go into the data and see WHERE on Facebook was linking to me?

Have you tried clearing the cache on Firefox? Also try clearing your computer’s DNS cache. Instructions for that vary based on the exact operating system you’re using, so please search online for the instructions for your exact setup.
Also check in Safe Mode in Firefox. If that works, there’s probably a browser extension that’s in some way interfering with your traffic, or maybe a specific proxy setting or firewall rule.
Regarding Facebook, we’re only able to track that traffic is coming from Facebook.com. We’re not able to track exactly where on Facebook, as they do not provide that info. It has to do with their privacy policy: people who shared your link there might have their profile settings set so only friends can see their feeds, or the link might have been shared on a private page or a hidden group.
So even if you searched Facebook for a link to your post, you’ll only find those instances where it was shared publicly, with no way of knowing who actually clicked on which instances.
