My latest post is not picked up by my followers

  A friend confirmed to me that my latest post is not picked up by my followers, effectively making me ‘unfollowed’. However I have in excess of 500 followers with a core group always reading my posts, but now they are not aware I posted it (for instance not showing in their WordPress followed sites Reader feed. I can also not see it as I follow myself. The friend confirmed that WordPress has to reset something as it also happened to her.
