My links aren't working

    I’m trying to add an author’s social media links and buy links to my blog post. Only the Facebook link is working. This is the second blog post in which I’ve had trouble posting links. Can someone help?

    Hi there,

    While in the “edit post” portion of your page there is a “chainlink” symbol (insert/edit link) in the text editor. You copy and paste the link to the video or another page in the box titled “URL.” In the “link text” box will be what the affiliate link will say (i.e “CLICK ME!” or “Follow my Instagram here”) and that phrase is what the user clicks to be redirected to the URL you’ve provided. When finished hit Add Link and be sure to save and publish.

    Thank you! I think that’s what I was doing when it stopped working. Interestingly, the same thing happened two weeks ago when I tried to add links to another post. I put links in all my posts, and I’ve only had trouble these two times.

    So I ended up solving the problem by using a different method of inserting links, one I found elsewhere in the WordPress.com help forum. I copied the URL of the link I wanted to use, then highlighted the text I wanted to link in my post. Then I hovered over the highlighted area and hit “Ctrl” “V” to paste. It worked much better. I had never used that method before–in fact, I hadn’t even known that method existed.
