My "Manifest" is different than the Manifest in the theme showcase.
-
I recently changed the theme of my blog to the new “Manifest.” In the theme showcase for manifest, when you click on “See it in Action,” it shows the theme as having links for “about,” “archives,” and “links,” just under the header. However, mine is only allowing me a spot for “about.”
How do I get it to allow the other two?

You’ll need to build those out with your own menu via Appearance -> Menus in your blog’s Dashboard.
See this for more info: http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/

But when I go there, it tells me that I can only have one menu, and it doesn’t give me the option to add archives. I can do categories, or pages (I have two–“home” and “about”), or custom links. But there’s no option that I can see that’s like the demo.

You’ll need to first create an Archives page for it to be added to the menu.
While creating the Archives page, make sure that you select the Archives template.

Yay! I think I’ve figured it out. Thank you, and one more question: how do I change the order of my link categories to be something other than alphabetical?
-
Unfortunately, the template is designed to display links alphabetically. There’s no way around that in the theme you’re using.
