My New Post page doesn't work
-
This is a test
I cannot get this blog to work. I have another wordpress.com blog that works just fine, but this one is useless.
When I copy and paste from MS Word 2007 (not saved, or saved as RTF, not DOCX) into my WordPress.com “New Post” page, the font is gigantic and there is nothing I can do to change it.
Also, the spacing between paragraphs is too big and it is nearly impossible to change it.
Also, when I try to place my cursor or insert point *here (in front of a word) to try and backspace it up (to narrow the space between paragraphs), wordpress.com almost always (93% of the time) refuses to let me.
If those two problems were not enough, NOW my New Post page keeps disappearing and then coming back. I mean it is there, and when I put my cursor in the text body, then everything I have in the text body of my New Post page literally disappears, and 30 – 60 seconds later it shows up again.

If you are copying and pasting from a word processing document like Microsoft WORD please read this https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/the-paste-as-word-button-has-been-removed-from-the-visual-editor?replies=3
Whether or not you are copying and pasting go to > Dashboard > Settings > Writing and enable this setting:
Formatting
__ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically
“save changes”Blog editors and word processors are not the same and do not work the same way. The web standard is one blank line only, so you cannot add more blank lines by pressing return repeatedly like you would do with a typewriter or in a word processing application. If you want to learn how to format and space your posts and pages see http://en.support.wordpress.com/advanced-html/
P.S. When you create a new post, always make sure the Format tool is set to Paragraph before you start typing. It’s in the Visual editor Row 2 first position “style”. See the illustration here http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2 If you forget to do that then edit the post, highlight all in the Visual editor, select Paragraph from the Format tool, switch editor to Text then switch back to Visual and click Update.

When we use the Visual editor we post in plain text and all formatting is removed. See http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text

timethief, thank you for the replies!

“save changes”I did that, plus now I’m pasting out of notepad, and that helped. It is still problematic (spacing difficulties and font size too large), but now it is usable, even if it is not doing exactly what I want.
The weird thing is that I have a different WordPress.com blog that doesn’t give me this trouble (I had the other blog before this one). But this blog is working at a tolerable level, so I’m going to just live with it. I will also read the other links you gave and see if there is anything there that might help.
Thanks again for the help.
