My new posts do not go the the main page
-
I would like each new post to go the main front page of my blog- It is doing one of two things:
It is split screening on the main page- I only have two posts so one on the left side and one on the right.
I did some adjusting but cannot get it- even when I can put the blog in a category the old blog occupies the front page?
Help please! -
Hi there,
Under the ‘setting’ -> under ‘writing’ tab -> there is a setting called ‘Post Default Format’ ->
I see that here you can choose different types of post formats. But when I tried it, once I chose ‘Aside’, it split my screen but I am unable to change it back to ‘standard’ or any other type. It always remains split screen. Probably a bug ?
I will type “modlook” in the tags here so a staff member could answer this question. Someone will soon answer your query.
Sorry I could not help much.
Thanks.

Hello therobbreviewblog!
I’m not sure if I understood your question correctly. I checked your site and found you have 3 posts, all set as default format. And they are all showing on your front page, because it’s how is set on your reading settings, the front page is your posts page. Could you, please, give me more details about the issue you’re having?
-
Thanks- The Robb Review” Page in the top navigation should be the homepage, not a different one. I would like my most recent blog to be on the homepage- instead it shows my first blog-

You can change your homepage on the link below:
https://therobbreviewblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php
The options you have is to set your post page to be on the front, or choose a static page to show. It’s not possible to set a page, different from your post page, to show only one post. You can have a static page on the front, with the content you want. Let us know how it goes and if you need any help.

I tried the link– I am still confused- When I set it to your latest posts- I the page lay-out is good but the post is my first not my most recent- When I shift to static I loose the side bar on the right-
How do I have my most recent post be the occupier or the front page? Of maybe I cannot?
-
therobbreviewblog, if you set a static page as front page it will show only the content of the page you selected. The layout is the page content on the left and the sidebar on the right.
If you choose to have your post page on the front page, it will show your posts, in order by published date, in boxes. Each box is a post, and the sidebar will only be shown when you click in one of them.
On the theme you’re using, the Baskerville theme, the posts are shown in boxes, as you can see on the theme demo page below:
https://wordpress.com/themes/baskerville
If you want to show your posts like the page layout, you have to change your theme to a different one. You can check all of them on the link below:

I appreciate your help-and understand that the theme is to some degree a limiting factor with what I want.
“the Robb Review Blog” page link at the top since it doesn’t do what we thought-, if I remove it- how will it change my front page view. Also ask how to add a link to the home page to the top navigation in place of “the Robb Review Blog” link.
-
therobbreviewblog, right now your front page is set to show the “The Robb Review Blog” page. If you delete this page it will change your front page to your posts. If you delete the link on the top, nothing will change in your front page, it will keep showing the same.
You can manage the links on your main menu, that black bar on the top, going on the menu “Menus”. You can check more information on the link below:

Hi,
I have selected my new post in the home page. And I would like to know how can I do for showing only part of the text of these post. As I saw in the demo of this theme Baskerville, the new post in the home page are shown with a link “Continue reading →”. I would like have this links in my home page, now the completely test of the post is shown, and it is no so nice.
Thanks! -
Hello fpbbasiccomercio!
You can use the More Tag to split the post content on the front page. You can check how to use it on the link below:
