My new theme is active but my website still looks like the old theme

  I installed a new custom theme on my wordpress dashboard, I have my own domain with hostgator, but I don’t know why even though I successfully installed the new theme and activated it, my website didn’t change. It’s the first i try uploading and installing a custom theme.

  Are you referring to a WordPress.com website? If so, then what is the address (URL) of the site? Also, what was the previous theme?
