My new website is set to private, and I’m not able to change it

  Hello. So my website is new. I’m aware that new sites are set to private by default, but I changed it to public in my settings. I don’t understand why it I’m led to a page that says my site is private when I follow its url. What gives?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  I clicked on the URL attached to your post here –
  https://coletrahanwrites.wordpress.com
  And I saw your site, so apparently it is not private anymore. You probably resolved the issue.

  If you still cannot access it, perhaps you need to clear your cache..

  It’s going in and out of private mode. I went in and clicked “public” even though that was checked already. It seems like that made the difference, but I fear that my site will mysteriously go private again.

  I figured it out. “colewrites.wordpress.com” is private, but “coletrahanwrites.wordpress.com” is not. I’m confused; maybe someone else owns the first site. It automatically came up in my URL bar, so I forgot that I ever added the “trahan.” My brain hurts and I feel silly, but thank you for your good will, houstonweaver.
