My notifications won't load

For some reason my notifications button, once clicked, just gives me a blank panel and a spinning wheel of doom. Does anyone know why this happens or has something similar happened to them?

Can you do me a favor and try to access your notifications using a different browser and see if it loads for you? I want to try to narrow down the issue. Let me know, thanks!

I am having the same problem as Matt. I’m using Windows 7, Mozilla Firefox. I just tried Google Chrome and they load. I don’t want to switch to Google Chrome though, I have too much stuff saved in Firefox.

You are describing either a browser related issue or a connectivity issue.
Make sure you are running an up to date browser version found at https://browsehappy.com

If you are not successful please provide this specific info:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://supportdetails.com/ -
@Timethif is correct. If it is working in the other browser, I would try clearing your cache to see if that does the trick.

I use Google Chrome, cleared the cache and it still has the problem. I used Microsoft Edge and they loaded.

Try disabling any extensions you have as well and see if that does the trick. There might be an extension you have that is interfering with the notification.

Tried disabling extensions, still nothing showing when trying to look at notifications. The extensions are just the basic google ones and acrobat.

Okay – thanks for testing that. Can you create a screenshot and upload it to your media library? I would like to take a look at what is happening with your notifications.

Sure, I’ve done that now – Basically I click the bell button and all I get is the ‘wheel of doom’ forever loading – I hope this helps!

Okay, I logged in under your account under Chrome and had no issues with the notifications loading. Have you checked to make sure that you have the latest version of Chrome? Also, I have the tendency of never really closing my browser and in this instance, fulling shutting down Chrome and reopening it could also help. Also, what Operating system are you on?

I am using the updated version of google chrome browser. And I tried clearing the cache. Even extensions and history from beginning of the. But i got nothing good out of it. I opening it in my laptop with windows 10 in it and I also tried to open it on micro soft edge on my phone. But changing browser or phone or laptop is also not helping.

If it is happening no matter what browser or device you’re using, then it shouldn’t be isolated to just you. However, I logged into your account and was able to load your notifications just fine. Can you provide me a screenshot of what you are seeing? It is unusual to not be working no matter what browser or device you’re on.
