My number of social media shares on every blog post has erased
-
I recently upgraded my blog from loveforteas.wordpress.com to loveforteas.com. It all looks fantastic but today I noticed that all the social media shares on individual posts is down to 0. I’ve some really good posts with more than 300 shares on twitter and good numbers on Facebook, pinterest and linkedin. It’s all down to 0. What can I do? I need to bring back the numbers as it’s loss of 9 months of blogging and promoting my blogs on social media.
After revamping the blog, I definitely need to show the performance of individual posts. Pls help.
Thank you!

Hi there,
The social media sharing counts that appear on your sharing buttons come directly from each of those social media services. Those services usually connect the number of shares to the address (URL) for each of your blog posts, which means that if you change your blog’s address (for example by adding a custom domain) it can reset your sharing counts.
You have a couple options:
1. You can switch the primary domain back to your blog’s free address loveforteas.wordpress.com and the old sharing counts will reappear.
2. You can continue using your new domain loveforteas.com and build up your sharing counts linked to that new domain name.
I’d recommend the second option, but if it’s really important for you to display the sharing counts you built up before you can switch back to the old address for that.
