My own domain

  If I already own a domain do I need to ‘map’ my domain or ‘transfer’ my domain to wordpress? What’s the difference please?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi Adhnotjustnaughty,

  If you choose to map the domain to WordPress.com it will point to your WordPress.com blog but you can continue to manage it externally through your domain provider. https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

  If you choose to transfer the domain across from your domain provider to WordPress.com, you can then manage it alongside your blog. This is a good route to take as it will leave your blog and domain in one place. https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/prepare-domain-for-transfer/
