My page got redirect to redirects to megadraws dot click
-
Hello,
My free WordPress.com site (todaysketches.wordpress.com) is experiencing a malicious redirection on the page short-comics.
When the page is refreshed, it redirects to megadraws.click, which is a spam/malware domain.
I cannot install any security plugins with my current free plan.
Please check if there has been any code injection or compromise. Thank you.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @pascalgagg,
In addition to what @staartmees mentioned, WordPress.com sites on the Free, Personal, and Premium plans are protected from malware. Our cutting-edge firewall and other security measures keep your site secure. The risk of malware typically arises on higher-level plans that support custom code (including plugins and third-party themes)—these can introduce vulnerabilities if not used carefully. Since you’re on the Free plan, which doesn’t allow custom code or third-party additions, it’s highly unlikely that your site has been affected by malware.
What you’re experiencing is most likely a local issue. We recommend running a security or antivirus scan on your device to check for any potential threats.
If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to reach out!

Hi. The same thing happened with my account yesterday and today. Please see my own message below about this on the forum. Please also take note of what I mention in my post about what my friend experienced on Sunday when visiting free wordpress sites he visits regularly. There is definitely an issue that has developed on free sites in the last couple of days. Please look into this and find out what is happening. Thank you.

I see this too on my site when logged out on both my iphone and edge on my laptop. Are you sure it isn’t a WordPress.com issue???

I did read wordpress.com has a new advertising channel, so the problem is probably over there

@paulbradshawuk again: I did read wordpress.com has a new advertising channel, so the problem is probably over there

I’m also suffering this exact problem from today July 8, 2025
I have a free plan for my blog (https://cristobalpaseante.wordpress.com/)
And it’s strange because even if I have a separate paid WP “product” to completely remove the ads (“No Ads”) I’m seeing this add at the end of my pages:
https://cristobalpaseante.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/image1.jpg
And also, from time to time, that crap megadraws dot click:
https://cristobalpaseante.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/image3.jpg
I already contacted with support and a “happy engineer” said they are investigating this issue… -
Thank you for raising this issue as it is affecting my blog as well. I have been redirected to spam as have been several readers of my blog.

Hi there,
We’ve identified and resolved an issue that was causing unexpected redirects or ad behavior on some sites, even for users with a No Ads upgrade. This may also have triggered security software alerts or caused your site to be flagged temporarily.
The issue should now be fully resolved. If you’re still experiencing any unusual behavior, please let us know — we’ll be glad to continue investigating.
As a best practice, we recommend reviewing your site’s widgets, plugins (if applicable), and any third-party embeds to ensure everything is up to date and coming from trusted sources.
Let us know how things look on your end.

It has just happened again on my wordpress site. So there is still a problem.
-
I am actually getting this on my website too at https://www.tobiakiode.com Any assistance will be appreciated.
-
I’m also facing the same problem with my site…
https://porsche718portugal.wordpress.com
I can’t always replicated, but sometime it also redirects to “megadraws.click”
My site is a free version form WordPress, with a WordPress domain and entirely in the WordPress servers… and for last, as a free version site, they don’t allow to having plugins installed, so, no malware from this front…

As of today 10 July 2025, I am experiencing the same issue. A webpage, “Megadraws dot click”, pops up.
I am on the free plan and my website is https://jaquienglish.wordpress.com/

FWIW mine is still ok for now, the Megadraws redirect spam seems to be replaced with some reasonably poor-quality but legit-looking inline adverts.
-
Hi! I had the same issue! I decided to remove the ads from my site today and it seems to be working! I don’t want my site visitors to be bothered by this “megadraw.click”!

Hi!
Thanks for the update. For those still experiencing the redirect issue, if your site has ads active, could you please try the following to turn off ads?
You can go to Tools → Monetize (or Jetpack → _Monetize if using WP Admin), click on the “Ads” tab, and then “Settings” to turn off ads. After that, please activate it again and clear your browser cache: https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/.This should reset the ads settings and load an updated version of the site.
Please let me know how it goes, and if the issue persists, we can investigate this further.
