My pages' featured images have changed to a single, repeated photo w/o my edits.

Hello. All of my pages display the same featured image even though I have individually selected and uploaded photos for each page. The array featured photos disappeared randomly; I noticed it today at an appointment when someone else was viewing my site. When I go to edit on each individual page the featured image shows correctly on the “edit” page but what is actually shown is the same image as on my home page. How did this happen and how do I correct it? Thanks.

Your featured images no longer match the required dimensions. We had previously stretched the images, which caused several other problems.
Now they need to be at least 940 pixels wide x 198 pixels tall.

I’m a frustrated customer. I appreciate you improving the situation to address previous problems, but this change also creates problems. I spent a lot of time/energy taking and selecting my photos, specifically to cope with the stretching issue. To have the required dimensions change arbitrarily and without notice fundamentally and negatively alters the product I purchased. Why is it not possible to have both sets of dimensions available? Please alert me who can I address @ this issue.

Unfortunately, it was a site-wide change, so for now the images will need to match the dimensions.

I have now re-cropped my feature images using the header cropper, from which I then took screen shots, which I then pasted into specific pages’ feature images. However, even using the header crop tool as a guide, the measurements for many of my re-cropped feature images still do not conform and the feature images default to the original single header image. How do you get precisely 940×198 pixel pictures? Any suggestions??? Thanks.

For better control, I recommend sizing them up in another image editor before uploading, but the cropper will force you to use equivalent dimensions here.

2 questions:
1) how do you delete uploaded header images? I would like to consider using the “show a random image” on each page, but I have more uploaded than I wish to be in the rotation;
2) still struggling with the cropping dimensions: oddly, the same photos work to be uploaded as header images, but will not be accepted as feature images on the individual pages???

1. You can delete them from the Media section of your Dashboard.
2. Can you link me to a post or page where the feature image isn’t working?
