My pdf file in my post is so small I have to scroll sideways to read the content
-
I have embedded a pdf file from Google Drive onto a post on my blog (theinspiredteacher.org). How do I expand the viewing window of my pdf file that I’ve embedded? There is so much space on my blog, yet the pdf file is trapped in a small window, forcing me to scroll from left to right. Is there a way to make my pdf file on my post fit in original size so that I can read from left to right without having to scroll sideways?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Allen,
You can change the width of the embed by changing the size parameters in the shortcode here:

I’ve changed the width up to 3000 in the post window. It doesn’t seem to do anything when I update. (This is the second post from the top – Constructing Meaning through Authentic Inquiry). Am I doing something wrong? I simple would like to make the width of my pdf window bigger.

Hi Allen,
I took a look at the embedded Google Drive file in this post: http://theinspiredteacher.org/2014/05/22/constructing-meaning-through-authentic-inquiry-2/
I’m not able to see the file itself — it looks like there are restricted permissions on the file in Google Drive that doesn’t make it public — but I can see the space where the file is being embedded in your post.
Right now that embed has a maximum width of 640 pixels. That’s because the Tonal theme you’re using has a default width of 640 pixels for content embedded in your posts. That’s built into your theme’s design.
Since you have the WordPress.com Premium upgrade on this blog, you can make changes to your theme’s design. To customize the design, go to your My Blogs page and click the Customize link under the blog’s title. In the Customizer, open the CSS section and look for the “Content Width” section there. You can enter a larger content width size there to override the default 640 pixel content width in your theme.
You can also use custom CSS to make additional changes to your theme’s design, such as widening the overall space for your blog’s content. We have tips for getting started with CSS here:
If you have CSS questions, most of our CSS support is done in the CSS Customization forum by expert staff and volunteers:

Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)
