My perfect (live) website changed by itself overnight – 99% Blank

  My live website has changed itself. I found out today that Urbanlashes.ca only had a viewable HOME page in tact and all the other pages were erased leaving just the title of the page on a black background. The theme was correct but only one page was working. PANIC!

  I immediately logged into WordPress and saw that all my page info was still there. So why did my live site change? I hadn’t logged into WordPress in weeks. However, I did get a phone call from GoDaddy last week offering to set up SiteLock for me on urbanlashes.ca because, according to him, I had paid for it and neglected to set it up. I said sure. He didn’t need any login info because he was from GoDaddy so it seemed like a safe idea. He was just calling for permission. I said thanks and we hung up. Very generous of them.

  … I just looked at my live site again. Now the THEME has just changed itself. When I had logged into WordPress minutes earlier today I had made no changes. I did not edit, delete, upgrade, download modify or save anything. The theme changing seems impossible to me.

  One last possible clue. I received an email today from Google saying that I had been given a 5 star review. Cool. I looked and in so doing I saw that 2 of my earlier reviews were gone. Please note that these are genuine reviews. My hubby googled why this happens and read to me that it may be because I may not verified. I reminded him that I was. It was 2 week wait and a process I remembered. To show him, I googled Urban Lashes Hamilton and on the right side popped up our business info. I clicked the website and that is when we saw that it crapped the bed.

  This is my trail of bread crumbs. I’m lost.

  This is the support forum for sites hosted on WordPress.com.

  It looks like you have a self-hosted site via WordPress.org and GoDaddy.

  @marionmb – it might be worth contacting Godaddy support too, if you haven’t already.

  They might have a backup of the site that they could restore.
