My photos are too small in posts

When writing my post and uploading pics, they look the perfect size (they are at max size), but when I view my site they look way too small. Since my blog is a travel blog, I’d like my pics to be a bit bigger. Is this because of the theme? (Hemingway) or is there a way to increase size? I have also gone into my settings, media and changed the size parameters but its made no diff to the size of photos in my posts (even though I re-uploaded pics after).
