My photos won't post!

For the last couple of blog posts I made, my photos won’t post. When I’m creating an editing a post I can insert photos but as soon as I update and publish it, they disappear. Please help!

Whenever we experience these kind of problems the first thing we suspect is a browser issue so we troubleshoot. As you could have a browser issue try changing your browser settings, refreshing the page, or clearing the browser cache and cookies – instructions for specific browsers.
You could try upgrading your browser.
You could try using another browser.Which browser and version of it are you using?
Where are the images hosted? On your own computer? On an image hosting site? Are you “hot-linking”?Bandwidth theft or “hotlinking” is direct linking to a web site’s files (images, video, etc.). An example would be using an <img> tag to display a JPEG image you found on someone else’s web page so it will appear on your own site. Displaying an image or file that doesn’t belong to you could be a violation of copyright, making you open to litigation. Some sites have prevention measures in place so if you attempt to hotlink you can’t. Others have messages that replace the images with a message to the effect of stop stealing our bandwidth as they are paying for it and you aren’t by hotlinking you can cause them to exceed bandwidth limits and have to pay extra.

I’m just using internet explorer and the photos are my own uploaded from my computer. I’ll try clearing the cache and cookies. I already experimented with different sizes of the image to see if that was the issue but no luck.

If you do not wish to try using Firefox then I believe you will have to contact Staff. Do note that Staff will need to know exactly which version of the IE browser you are using 6, 7, 8, 9?) . I have the same problem-I can´t publish new shots….at first I had deleted some shots from my page, I thought my page is overload….but now I have the same problem again…I don´t know what I can do…. Can anybody help me-I have no answer from the supporter.

Before you do that please be sure you are uploading an accepted image file type.Check the image file type extensions. You can upload the following image types to a post or page on your WordPress.com blog by using the Add an Image icon found within your visual editor:
* .jpg/.jpeg
* .gif
* .png
Note will not be able to upload bitmap images. -

Please read this thread and go through all the steps.
(1) browser issue troubleshooting
(2) if your browser is not the latest version then upgrade it
(3) try another browser
(4) accepted file types -check the image file type extensions.

wow…timethief…my browser is the firevox and now I work with my internet explorer and it works…I can now upload shots….this are things I don´t understand…thank you so much….

I have a similar problem at the moment, and I’ve had it before; it is transient. The upload process completes as usual after I click `Insert image’, but no code actually appears in the editor window. If, laboriously, I put in the code myself, it saves fine, but on the occasional login like this one, the uploader just doesn’t insert it. I’ve tried both uploaders. Has anyone else seen anything like this, and if so, were you able to fix it by means other than just trying again some hours later?

The thing that is most strange is that my first couple of blog posts the photos posdted fine and are still there, but in current blog posts they aren’t.

That’s because WordPress and IE are no longer as compatible as they were. If you don’t want to change browsers, you are going to continue having problems.

Was there a new version of WP pushed out May 1? I was not having any issues until yesterday. I could not get an image (jpg from my PC) to stay in my post, as soon as I saved the draft it disappeared! Today the text is not saving either. I’m using IE… I will try Firefox next. This is really frustrating!!!

Thank you all so very much! I downloaded firefox and everything is working perfectly! Its also already a million times faster than internet explorer was. Thanks again!

I should add that I’m using Firefox (3.6.17) and still getting my problem, even after logging out and coming back next day.
