My picture in the profile section

In the profile section there is the “my picture”box right. Is it possible to use .gif (animated images) in there? I tried it but only get stills (frame 1 of the animation).

It does seem to be a hit and miss affair [not only on W.P.] I have one on my froggy section that moves, I suggest just keep re-doing, boring I know, and try different ones

Actually I believe the GIF: format no longer works in that aspect.
I heard in the past that some bloggers had it working but I haven’t heard
anything recently about it still working. Basically they allow the format
for transparency reasons. -
Tecky sweets I just said recently less than an hour ago-I don’t know anything much mind, only that my froggy moves. At least he did a few days ago.

i get gifs working in normal pages/posts, but if the op means our wp.com profile page or avatar, then it wouldn’t work i believe. i think gifs work in sidebars as well as i’ve seen one before.

I agree with sulz; I think the OP is talking about avatars, and there are no animated avatars allowed.
