My picture on blog home page

  Can I have my picture in my blog home page? I have an avatar that shows my picture when I write a comment and so on, but I would like to have a place in my home page where I could put my picture, my name and some basic information, so everyone visiting my blog for the first time would know who I am, what the blog is about, etc. How do I do that? My blog is http://ivelise.wordpress.com/ Thanks!

  Why not simply write a static page (not a post) and call it About? Then you could upload pictures to it and a contact form and whatever you want.

  2 options:

  1) You can place this information into a Text Widget directly into your sidebar (Design -> Widgets).

  2) You can place this information on a new page, and set this page as your Static Front Page from Settings -> Reading. This way, that page will display as your home page.

  You can make an “about”-page. Is that what you mean?

  I have an “about” page already, I just thought I could have some very basic information with my picture on my side bar like blogpost has. Thanks!
