My plug-ins are missing

  • Unknown's avatar

I have no idea how to get my plug-ins in the Appearance tab; as it is missing. I have read every blog post, support on this subject and CANNOT figure this out. I need you to tell me exactly how to fix this.

    Please review my dashboard:
    user: catherineracine
    password: [redacted]
    paid domain: http://www.catherineracine.com

It’s a new blog, so there’s not so there’s nothing much on it; but I don’t want to delete and start over. I’ve already paid for this site, so it’s not an FTP issue, it’s not an Admin issue, and I cannot see what version it is; though I just started the blog less than 1 month ago.

Please help because I want to install plug-ins, but the directory is missing.

    Thank you.
    Catherine

  • Hi Catherine,

When you get a chance, please go here and change your password:
    https://en.wordpress.com/settings/password/

Please note that WordPress.com staff does not need your password to access your site and will never ask you for it. In fact, I don’t recommend ever providing it to anyone. ;)

Plugins aren’t permitted on WordPress.com for security reasons. They can be used for self-hosted WordPress sites, and you can read more about the differences here:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

However, many popular plugins aren’t necessary here at WordPress.com because the same functionality is built in. What plugins were you wanting to add? We might have a widget or feature that does the same thing. :)
